More Than Pink: Supporting Our Community This October

Standing Together This Breast Cancer Awareness Month

A Month to Honor, Remember, and Support

Every October, pink ribbons appear on storefronts, sports fields, and front porches across Kentucky. Breast Cancer Awareness Month is a time to honor those who are fighting, celebrate those who have survived, and remember those we have lost.

About 1 in 8 women in the United States will be diagnosed with breast cancer during her lifetime. That means nearly all of us know someone whose life has been touched by it: a mother, a sister, a friend, a coworker, a neighbor. At Bluegrass Regional Imaging, we are proud to stand with our community this month and every month.

Care That Continues Beyond Diagnosis

A breast cancer journey does not end with a diagnosis or even with treatment. For many patients, ongoing follow-up care is an important part of moving forward with confidence and peace of mind.

Our team provides advanced imaging that helps physicians care for patients throughout their treatment and beyond. We know these appointments can bring up a lot of emotions. That is why we focus on making every visit as comfortable, calm, and compassionate as possible. When you walk through our doors, you are not just a patient. You are a neighbor, and we are honored to be part of your care.

What You Can Do This October

Awareness is most powerful when it leads to action. Here are a few simple ways to make a difference this month:

  • Talk to your doctor about screening. Ask when you should start mammograms and how often you need them based on your age and family history.
  • Know your body. Pay attention to any changes, such as a new lump, swelling, skin changes, or nipple discharge, and let your doctor know right away.
  • Encourage the women in your life. A simple reminder to a mom, sister, or friend to schedule her mammogram could make all the difference.
  • Show up for someone. If someone you love is going through treatment, a meal, a ride to an appointment, or a thoughtful text can mean more than you know.
  • Wear pink with pride. Join us in showing support for patients, survivors, and families throughout October.

We Stand With You

To every patient in the middle of treatment, every survivor, every caregiver, and every family that has been touched by breast cancer: we see your strength, and we are here for you.

This October, and all year long, Bluegrass Regional Imaging is proud to support our community with compassionate care close to home. Together, we can keep the conversation going, encourage early detection, and make sure no one faces this journey alone.

With gratitude,
The Bluegrass Regional Imaging Team
