What is a CT scan?

CT stands for “Computed Tomography” which is a medical imaging technique that uses X-rays to produce detailed pictures of the inside of the body.

The way it works is by taking multiple X-ray images from different angles around the body and then using a computer to combine them into a 3D image. This allows doctors to see inside the body and look for things like tumors or other abnormalities.

It’s very useful because it can help doctors diagnose and treat many different medical conditions. However, because it uses X-rays, it’s important to make sure that it’s only used when necessary to avoid exposing the patient to too much radiation.
